CAN YOU HELP US WITH THIS LETTER? WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE?

Dr Shane and Tom,

My boyfriend's a nice guy with a great sense of humor, good looks, and a great job.  But there's one thing he does all the time that I can't stand.  Whenever he goes to the bathroom, he says: "I gotta take a leak."

 Personally, I think "take a leak" is the grossest phrase ever.  But why does he feel the need to announce that he's peeing at all? Can't he just say, "I'm going to use the bathroom?"  What phrases does your significant other say that you just can't stand?  Or, what do they say that absolutely disgusts you?
